    ACS Student Communities Starter Grant

    Starter Grants are available to support the creation of new Student Chapters, International Student Chapters, or Graduate Student Organizations (GSO). These grants are for up to $300 and must be used to directly support the chartering of a new student community, including to fund ACS student membership – https://www.acs.org/funding/grants/acs-student-communities-starter-grant.html

    To encourage active ACS Student Chapters, ACS International Student Chapters, and ACS Graduate Student Organizations (ACS GSOs) members to attend and participate in professional conferences, like an ACS Meeting, by covering associated registration fees, lodging, and/or transportation costs for one or more students. Your group can request up to $200 for a virtual conference, $500 for an in-country meeting (within the country your group is located), or $2000 for an out-of-country conference (requiring travel to another country) to support chapter members attendance.

    To support professional development endeavors intended to increase and support the ACS Core Value of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Respect (DEIR) within Student Chapters, International Student Chapters, and Graduate Student Organizations. Up to $750.

    To provide funding to ACS units, especially international chapters, for internationally collaborative and innovative activities/events. The ACS International Activities Committee sponsored Global Innovation Grant assists International Chapters, International Student Chapters, Technical Divisions, and Local Sections with travel, projects and events. Grants up to $5,000 are available annually (pending budget approval) in support of IAC strategic interests and priorities and to catalyze new international collaborations and partnerships dedicated to solutions to global challenges.
